"Return To Me"
Now you sing, and my tears fall.
Now you fly away from my haunted hall.
Now you run, and my tears flow.
Now you sing a chorus I fail to know.
I hunger for you, sweet maiden' mine.
For the need of you: my heart does pine.
I thirst for you, mermaid of the sea.
Whither you go: Return to me?
I haunt these hills, a lonesome soul,
A fleshless specter, or a phantom cold.
The depths I travel, a floundering fish,
My heart unraveled, screaming my wish.
"Return to me, to these arms that need.
Come back to comfort this heart that ever bleeds.
Return to me, to these arms that wait.
Come save me before I succumb to the sleep of fate."
Now you sing, and my heart falls.
The notes: the dirge of Hades' halls.
Now you rejoice, and my soul weeps in pain,
Bound by the promises' past like iron chains.
I hunger for you, and ever still
This heart doth beat for the love that will
In darkest twilight or brightening dawn,
Flit from my grasp, and thus be gone.
I haunt these hills, frequent these eerie ways,
Ever uttering the broken promises of latter days.
I haunt these depths, a hopeless prisoner' my own,
Bound by my word behind iron and stone.
"Return to me, to these arms that yearn.
Within this heart, the fire still burns.
Return to me, and I swear to thee:
Aught shall I sacrifice in my pledge to thee."
As you sang, this specter fell,
From Heaven's gates to pit of hell.
As you flew, this phantom cried,
And drowned in the traces of the love that died.
I hungered for you, and still the pang
Of famine persistent in this breast yet hangs,
Though I flit about in Persephone’s curs'd tomb,
That thirst for you remains beyond the mark of doom.
I haunt these hills, myself and more:
A thousand shadows from the glory of life before.
I haunt these depths, beyond the raging sea,
And scream my woes, till you return to me:
"Return to me, to these spectral arms,
And there embrace each other beyond the fear of harm.
Return to me, you who I loved in life:
In living a sparrow, in death my wife.
Return to me, to this fleshless embrace.
Here dance with me, oh ye maiden' grace.
Return to me, ere I suffer thy lost again.
Return to me, beyond the veil of mortal men...
Wraith,
Wow. I felt the pain, my heart's feeble arms seemd to grasp on to absence as your words seemed to do.
